Follow the following guidelines:
(1) Request material safety information sheets from sealant manufacturers or suppliers. It should be read carefully for safety reasons.
(2) When applying glue on site, it is necessary to be aware of the high possibility of pollution. Even if two rags are used correctly, airborne pollution from other working surfaces, or secondary pollution from water, etc., will affect the work result. The technical requirements of structural silicone sealant are very high, and the operation should be very careful.
(3) Great care must be taken when handling glass plates used for structural assembly. The edges should be protected from breakage. Reflective films, low radiation films and high performance glass should be handled with care to prevent edge breakage.
(4) In addition, sealant manufacturers should consult manufacturers of doors and Windows or metal assembly systems about frame installation procedures, glass assembly sequence and technical requirements.
(5) Most structural assembly systems use black silicone sealant. Black silicone sealant does not produce the aesthetic problems that other colors may bring. For example, black silicone sealants are not easy to see where bubbles or tools start and end.
(6) Follow the instructions of sealant manufacturers when using sealant guns or loose glue dispensing equipment. If using a pneumatic sealant gun, the pressure should not be greater than 45 PSI(3.1 ×105PA).
(7) The sealant is applied to the treated joint. It should be carefully glued upward from the bottom of the vertical seam, and pushed to the front of the gun nozzle to ensure that the whole cavity is filled with glue. No gas inserts or bubbles are allowed on the edges.
(8) after gluing, immediately compact the sealant joints before the surface consolidation of the sealant.
(9) The shaping work should be clean, and the sealant should be pressed hard to make it not contact with the edge of the interface. Compaction to eliminate internal bubbles to ensure good contact between the sealant and the substrate. The sealant is prone to surface consolidation, so repeat dressing is not recommended. Do not use soap or detergent solutions.
